Global Hotkeys
HiFi Control supports system-wide keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) that work even when the application is not focused. This allows users to control volume, playback, and other functions from any application.
Available Hotkeys

Dynamic Preset Hotkeys
Section titled “Dynamic Preset Hotkeys”Each configured preset can be assigned its own hotkey. These are dynamically registered when presets are created.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”Hotkeys are configured in Settings → Hotkeys.
Recording a Hotkey
Section titled “Recording a Hotkey”- Click on a hotkey binding field
- A recording dialog appears
- Press the desired key combination (modifier keys + a key)
- The new binding is saved immediately

- Numbers (0-9)
- Function keys (F1-F12)
- Multimedia keys (Media Next, Previous, Stop, Play/Pause, Volume)
- Navigation keys (Space, Enter, Escape, Arrows, Page Up/Down, Home, End)
- Special input devices (e.g., Microsoft Surface Dial click)
Conflict Detection
Section titled “Conflict Detection”When assigning a hotkey that is already used by another command, a confirmation dialog appears asking whether to reassign the hotkey.
Hotkey Enable/Disable
Section titled “Hotkey Enable/Disable”The Enable global hotkeys checkbox at the top of Settings → Hotkeys turns all hotkeys on or off at once, letting you control volume and playback even while HiFi Control is in the background. Hotkeys are automatically paused during hotkey recording to prevent conflicts.
Implementation
Section titled “Implementation”Hotkeys use the Windows global hotkey system, so they work even when HiFi Control is running in the background or minimized to the system tray.
