Version Management
Overview
Section titled “Overview”HiFi Control includes an automatic update notification system that checks for new releases and notifies the user when updates are available.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”- The application checks for available updates online
- Available releases are filtered based on the user’s notification preferences
- The current version is compared against available releases
- If a newer version is found, the user is notified with a download link
Release Channels
Section titled “Release Channels”| Channel | Description | Notification Default |

| Stable | Production-ready releases | Always enabled |
| Beta | Pre-release versions for testing | User configurable |
| Alpha | Early development versions | User configurable |
Settings
Section titled “Settings”In Settings → Updates, users can configure:
- Notify about Alpha releases: Enable/disable notifications for alpha builds
- Notify about Beta releases: Enable/disable notifications for beta builds
- Check for updates: Manually trigger an update check
- Current version: Displays the installed version
- Available version: Shows the newest available version (if any)
Update Installation
Section titled “Update Installation”When an update is available, the application provides a download link. The user downloads and runs the installer manually.
Version Display
Section titled “Version Display”The current application version is shown in Settings → About and Settings → Updates. The version string indicates the release channel (stable, beta, or alpha).
