System Tray
Overview
Section titled “Overview”HiFi Control integrates with the Windows system tray (notification area), providing persistent access to the application even when the main window is minimized or closed.
Tray Icon
Section titled “Tray Icon”A system tray icon is displayed whenever the application is running. The icon reflects the current state:
- Default icon: Normal operation
- Muted icon: Active amplifier is muted
The icon updates in real-time when the mute state changes.
Context Menu
Section titled “Context Menu”Right-clicking the tray icon shows a context menu with:

Window Behavior
Section titled “Window Behavior”Minimize to Tray
Section titled “Minimize to Tray”When Start minimized or Minimize to tray is enabled in Settings → General, minimizing the main window hides it to the system tray instead of the taskbar. Double-clicking the tray icon restores the window.
Close Button
Section titled “Close Button”Clicking the window close button (X) exits the application entirely.
Windows Integration
Section titled “Windows Integration”Jump List
Section titled “Jump List”The application configures a Windows Jump List on the taskbar, providing quick-access shortcuts.
System Menu
Section titled “System Menu”A custom “Quit” option is added to the window’s system menu (accessible by right-clicking the title bar) for additional exit options.
Single Instance
Section titled “Single Instance”HiFi Control ensures only one instance runs at a time. Launching a second copy will signal the first instance instead.
